BDO is the world’s 5th largest auditing and consulting firm. It has approximately 1.800 offices in 167 countries and employs over 88 thousand people.
BDO was founded in 1963 on the initiative of five auditing and consulting firms from Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States of America and Canada. It adopted the name of Binder Seidman International Group (BSIG) and started to work on networking. In 1973, the network changed its name to BDO – Binder Dijker Otte & Co. and, in 1988 to BDO International. In 2010, with the legal restructuring, the network has just adopted the BDO brand.
BDO in Portugal was founded in 1981 with the corporate purpose of providing auditing and consulting services. BDO Portugal has expanded its range of services and clients and currently has 7 offices and about 200 employees.
